Coffee & Chat: "Developing and Supporting Managers: Training That Works. The Coffee & Chat is moderated by Brenda Basso & Jill Windelspecht


- Managers have a big impact on the employee experience, but many are expected to lead without enough preparation or support. In this practical, interactive coffee and chat, we’ll explore how HR can identify what managers really need, choose useful ways to build their skills and design learning they can apply on the job. .
- We’ll look at three steps: diagnose the need, design the right support and deliver learning that sticks. Along the way, we’ll use the AGES Model™ – Attention, Generation, Emotion and Spacing – to consider how learning can be easier to remember and use at work. .

Session Description:
HR professionals spend so much of their time taking care of everyone else—but what about their own spark? In this engaging and reflective session, Todd Bertsch invites attendees to turn the lens inward, recognize the smoke signals that may be dimming their energy, and reconnect with what lights them up. Through his SPARK Framework—Curiosity, Mindset, and Action—participants will discover practical ways to protect their well-being, navigate change, and enter the new year with greater energy, clarity, and intention.


Speaker Bio:
Todd Bertsch is a keynote speaker, entrepreneur, leadership coach, and creator of the SPARK Framework. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, Todd helps people and organizations navigate change, strengthen resilience, and ignite, protect, and multiply human potential. He is a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach, founder of Bertsch Consulting Group, and host of The BOLT Podcast.



Spark Quotient (SQ) Assessment

Attendees are encouraged to complete Todd's Spark Quotient (SQ) Assessment prior to the December 1 meeting.

The Spark Quotient is a short self-assessment that provides a snapshot of how brightly someone's spark is currently burning. It explores three core drivers—Curiosity, Mindset, and Action—and helps participants identify potential smoke signals as well as opportunities to ignite and protect their spark.

Completing the assessment before the event will give attendees a personal starting point for reflection and allow Todd to incorporate insights from the group's collective results into the presentation.
